Our heroes defeated a large nest of gricks living in the ruins of the Tfinnan Estate, then ventured into a secret basement where they found the expedition notes that Hegil Tfinnan had been putting together to find the final resting place of his ancestor, the Flan hero Telan. They also encountered the doomed ghost of Hegil, who had returned to his secret library after meeting his end in the Drachesngrab Mountains. His only hope of eternal lies in the party finding his body and burying it in Telan’s tomb.
The party is now debating their next steps: the demihumans want to return to Obsidian Bay with the books, gear, and modest treasure they found, while the paladin Darogan wants to venture into Blue to secure a wagon to transport their finds … and possibly undertake a side mission of his own.
The saga for Chapter 35 of the Obsidian Frontier campaign is online in the Griff Wiki. In this chapter, our heroes investigate the ruins of the Tfinnan Estate hoping to find some evidence of the final resting place of the Ghostbane Scrolls.
A new consortium wishes to create a grand new library in the new city of Obsidian Bay. They hire our heroes, who’s first stop is the Tfinnan Estate, where they should find some clues to further artifacts. On their way they run into the Wyvern Empire who is attempting to capture a few of their namesakes.
Things take a turn when a familiar pack of gnolls catches up to the party, forcing the group to evade them only to come up against a band of mutated trolls. Read the full saga.
The dragon known as the Green Blight has been defeated, and its hoard claimed by the heroes of the Griffins Guild and their allies. They are now headed back into a world untouched by the strange energies of the Feywild. Read the full saga.
The Griffins Guild has dispatched three of its proteges — Tanevir, Telthanas, and Burgell — to deal with the threat of the Green Blight, a green dragon that has seized control of a portal to the Feywild at the heart of the Verdant Waste. Accompanying them on this quest are several new recruits:
Hawkwind, a Pomarjian native whose tribe was wiped out by humanoid invaders,
Fargrim Frostbeard, a dwarven cleric of MuammanDuathal
Shump Bloodoath and Hank Ironvow, both half-orc fighters hired on from the Nazarn’s Answer mercenary company.
With the swirling elemental storm they accidentally summoned still raging over the Dire Downs to the East of Obsidian Bay, they have chosen to travel through the tamer (or at least, less lightning blasted) hills to the south. Even here they can see signs of the Verdant Waste’s rampant expansion, as well as signs of flash flooding caused by the deluge to the north. They’ve dealt with their first significant threat — bugbears who successfully ambushed them in their camp — and are now pressing on toward the Waste.
There is no Charge action, but there is a Charge-related feat.
Monster lore? House rule: Nature rolls for natural beasts, Religion for undead creatures and Arcana for magical creatures
Delay vs. Ready: There is no “Delay” rule in 5th Edition. Instead there is “Ready”, which lets you prepare a single action as a re-action, with someone else’s action as the trigger.
